Dubai stopover recommendations
Hi world travellers
We are considering a 2 night stop over in Dubai (in October). What should we put on our must see/do list? Just me and hubs travelling.
Thanks! |

The gold souk.
Dune bash
Segment on BH&G recently about an extraordinary garden within the Altlanis Palm hotel. Only open certain times of the year. I would LOVE to do
that. |

I saw that too but I don't think it's open in October. It looked amazing! |

Agree trip to the desert in 4 Wheelers great fun BUT take some Dramamine if you think you may be at all susceptible!
Also agree the Gold Souk is jaw dropping. Have a great trip, lucky you!
Oh, and we stopped at a restaurant for lunch. Picked something from the menu for the two of us and asked for a side salad. This MASSIVE (and cheap)
delicious banquet turned up that we could barely manage, and the 'side salad' was a bowl of actual vegetables. Raw, uncut. No wonder they looked at us
strangely! Don't know what the miscommunication was but great fun anyway! |

It's called the Miracle Garden, it closes for 6 months in May. |

Desert trip is a must. We did the one in vintage Land Rovers. It's tamer than the 4WD ones but I loved the open air. Personally, I don't recommend
going up the Burj Khalifa, I found it quite a let down, same for the Dubai Mall. We absolutely loved the waterpark at Atlantis, The Palms if you're
into that sort of thing, it's fantastic! Stayed at Intercontinental, Dubai Marina and it was excellent and in a nice part of Dubai |

We booked Burj Khalifa from Australia to make sure we did not miss out and when we got there there was a sand storm and you couldnt see anything. Bit
disappointing |

if you are into cooking and like spices the spice souk is worthwhile visiting. the prices for saffron are much cheaper than here. |

We loked the Dubai Museum, it is inside and underneath the old fort. Very modern with great displays

We also went on the hop on hop off bus and went around to the shopping centres, markets and a boat ride |
