most competitions stipulate a competition period to buy in so I would say old receipts would be no good |

As Cass said, but also try and keep for 12 months or until they drive you mad as there are plenty 2nd chance draws! |

Watch out - they fade. They're not ink but a thermal print.
I find Woolies ones fade quicker than other stores, the print is lighter and finer, some checkouts are better than others! |

And make sure you keep them away from the sunlight or they will fade a lot quicker!!
You might want to keep the receipt with an entry form from the promotion it relates to or with the competition information

Keep them as long as you can. I recenly got notification that I had won a $500 wish card in a second chance draw. The comp finished early dec 2011. I
had thrown the receipt out by early jan 2012. The second chance draw was 17th jan.
I rang the promoter to find out if there was anything I could do, they told me to ring woolies and get a reprint of the original and gave me the
receipt/transaction number.So I did and am now $500 richer... |
