Address Labels

I want to get some address labels printed with my name, address, telephone number and internet addy - 5 lines in all.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good, reasonably cheap, place I can order these?
Thanks

Haven't you got a printer?!

If not, try kwikcopy or any of the stationery shops.

Of course I have a printer Andrew! I just like those nice little rolls of pre-printed ones!

maybe get a self inking stamp made up - might be better value for money & last longer in the long run.

I did read in another thread somewhere on the forum a while back that some people steer clear of using stamps & labels as its felt that comp organiser avoid these entries as they consider them to be from professional compers.
- so maybe still use a mixture of handwritten entries as well!

I have always bought my labels online from the place below they fit my name address phone number and email address. They have them in a variety of colours and fonts. I am very pleased with this company - they are of a good quality and they send promptly.

http://www.economylabels.com.au/

White gloss self-adhesive labels.
Up to 5 lines of text. Include one of the icon selections at no extra charge.
Labels are 45 mm wide and 17 mm high.
Supplied on a roll in a handy dispenser box.
500 labels are A$18.00. 1000 labels are A$24.00. 2000 are A$37.00 (including postage).

* Having 5 lines of text will reduce the size of all the text on the label

They have a special at the moment buy and order one set and get another 500 for just $12.00 extra!

I personally love them as I know my winnings will arrive at the right address if I label each envelope. I win fairly consistantly so I cannot honestly say that I feel I "miss" out or that they work against me.

Thanks Principessa - this is one of the companies I found when searching through Google earlier.

I don't think it can work against you, as the companies follow their rules and draw an envelope out - if it has a return address on the back that is pre-printed then they can't very well throw it back again can they.

Also, I got my address labels when I moved into my house 8 years ago - I am only just running out, and use them for paying bills etc, as well as other things - I'm not in the "professional comper" category yet, even though I do spend heaps of time on LOTTOS!!!

I bought some from the people who sometimes advertise in Take 5 or That's Life (just had a flick through my current mags and can't find them, of course!)...600 clear or plain labels for $16.95 plus $3.95 postage for any size order. Also Disney and picture ones 300 for $14.95. I've got some plain, and some Disney ones, and use them according to my mood...the Disney ones look very UNprofessional!!

I get my labels from the same place as Pirate. They're called Labels By Mail
Unit 1, 176 - 180 Euston Road
Alexandria NSW 2015
PH 02 8594 7999

Pity they don't have a website (not one I can find anyway)

They only do 4 lines with 28 characters per line. I love their labels though, very cute.

Labels by Mail

I have been getting mine from them for about 2 years now. Lovely pictures but as pirate and timboli say only 4 lines. I currently have ones with butterflies on them, smilie faces and red roses. The brochure often comes in junk mail or Yellow Pages Advertising envelopes.

Thanks all. I want 5 lines though - would be so much easier:

Just wondered........... If it says "Write your name & address etc.... on the back " is it still alright to use a label?

I was the one who originally suggested that stamps and labels might not be a good idea. My reasoning was because of my experience. I had a very successful first year of comping (beginners luck maybe?), so then I rushed out and bought a stamp to save all that writing and then found that I didn't win much for the next two years. Looking back at the "major" prizes that I did win during that time, it became glaringly obvious to me that the winning ones were those that I had sent in my husbands name and my daughters name as I didn't have a stamp with their name on it, only mine. So I reasoned that since the handwritten won and none of those in my name which was stamped won that I had better ditch the stamp. I have to add though, that I stamped the back of ALL my entries whether it was needed or not and that I did win many small prizes in my name. Just no big ones. Could be just coincidence I suppose, but now I always write by hand if it is required on the back, and if it is not I leave it blank. Many people have said they win with labels though.
Just my opinion. Everyone must do it their own way.

I do a mixture, and if I have only one entry for a single-prize draw, I would always hand write it! But if there's lots of prizes, I'm sure the promoters appreciate being able to easily read the winners' details.

I get my labels from Identity Direct...and have had no trouble with them at all. I order by mail. But yoy can have a look at www.myadventurebooks.com From what I can see this is their web.

I think they may only allow 4 lines...not certain though.

May have to go to a printer near you. For a special order. I have a brother inlaw who is a printer....But not in canberra, so probably no help to you.

Goodluck:D

I bought my Trodat Printy in 1992 when I did Avon, I`ve had the address changed twice and now I rebrush it once in a while with cheap ink I bought at the newsagency like 5 or so years ago. Not a problem, but you want labels I know, just thought I would share :D

lol Yes what a coincidence :D

I've just spent the pass 30 mins doing a few difference designs with my new addy ;)

Most of my mail comps I use labels and for 25 words I always print them out like Alan does.. I'm yet to win one thou :(

I've been trying out Avery DesignPro 2000 with the Avery labels you can get the basic program here

I have used a Trodat Printy for a few years now and re-ink it with ink now and then.

I did use some labels that I made up on the computer but found that the labels weren't sticky enough (fault with the labels) and I had to stick them down with sticky tape.

Those labels that Principessa spoke about sound good - I might give them a go as well.

On my work computer i've got a dymo label printer - you just have to type in what you want printed into the dymo software, and then you print the labels individually.

The Dymo printers are pretty expensive, but it works well.

I don't use it for competitions though - i'd rather write my entries by hand.

Mine was done in the gloss gold with black print must say very nice indeed.

Only thing they don't have is a online payment system so I rung up with my CC details. 5 day turn around great service :D
