My seven year olds attempt to get out of camping

Whilst watching a holiday program over the weekend my seven year old daughter asked her father
"Where are we holidaying this year?"
He looked at her in disbelief.
"Camping of course, we always camp. It's affordable and it's great family bonding time"
He then raved on about WHEN I WAS A BOY....Blah blah blah.
Later my daughter asked if I knew of any comps for a Queensland theme park holiday.
I found one on the search engine.

An hour later she presented me with a beautiful glitter pen and Hannah Montanna paper effort.
I have corrected the spelling and entered it for her.

In 25WOL why do you want to fly JETSTAR to Seaworld?

Camping.
Every holiday ... camping.
Dad says camping is bonding time.
JETSTAR won’t make me camp!
I want to bond with JETSTAR.
JETSTAR and DOLPHINS.

By Diddles

Fingers crossed.
T&C's don't state we HAVE TO TAKE THE BOYS!!!

What a fantastic effort - good luck - I hope she wins! (and I agree about the camping too!)

Wonderful effort - I'd rather bond with a piranha than go camping!!!! Know how she feels...she probably DOES enjoy camping though, I even enjoyed it when I was 7.

Good to see your daughter has learnt one of life's important lessons at such a young age....
Car broken down? Need a new TV? Dad wants to take you camping & you hate it?
Comping is the answer.
Hope she's a winner, Jed Dog.

I love camping!!:D But if you give me a choice between that and a Qld theme park holiday I gotta admit I'd take the Qld option!!

Fantastic entry. Good luck:)

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an
attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one
hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming
WOO HOO what a ride!

2006-$23411 + 2007-$69842 + 2008-$38712 + 2009-$20781 + 2010-$25344 = $178090
Jan-Oct - $8995
Nov = any minute now......

Good work griffin, I do like it.
I do however enjoy camping, I like the biscuits and dip, the twiggy sticks, the camp oven roast, sleeping in my easy chair or flat out in the swag gazing at the stars. I like the ease of it and the serenity.
It is Miss seven who can't do without BOOMERANG cartoons, ABC for kids, ALLLLLL of her Bratz dolls, multiple choices daily from the wardrobe and believe it or not .... the newly aquired hair straightener.

Sounds like seventeen not seven, blame the parents.

Ah Ha, I see JD - if she has knots in any curly hair see why she just has to have the hair straightener, or iron hair flat on the ironing board some used to do before they were invented. ;)

You just about have to lock kids in the wardrobe to stop them growing up so quickly now. Home comforts are hard to leave.

Ok camping is alright, but me just prefers caravan instead of tents. :)

Excellent JD!! I love it - fingers crossed for a win!!

I love camping too. Haven't done much of late as the kids always seem to get sick with camping, but hope to again soon.

Fingers crossed for her. My parents were in the Catholic family bushwalking club and we went camping on a regular basis.

I remember coming home very late one Friday afternoon after school because I thought that that would stop us from going but all I got was a good grounding after we returned home on the Sunday. Ahhh they were the good ol days lol.

My favorite of all favorite camping moments is playing "Chubby bunny". This is my biggest camping memory from childhood, these days I just prefer to toast the marshmellows.

JD,
What's chubby bunny? I've never heard of it.

This is chubby bunny.
It's fun, it's dangerous (marshmellow squishing into nasal cavity), it's hysterically funny especially after a few.

JD
CHUBBY BUNNY

1. You need atleast two people to play.
2. You need a BIG bag of marshmellows.
3. The idea is to put a marshmellow in your mouth and say CHUBBY BUNNY.
No swallowing.
4. Next person goes.
Same procedure.
5. Place another marshmellow in your mouth.
Say CHUBBY BUNNY.

For the entire game you take it in turns, marshmellows in, say CHUBBY BUNNY. No swallowing through out. My record is 16 mellows, no swallow, audible chubby bunny.

6. The person to hold the most marshmellows in their mouth and audibly say CHUBBY BUNNY wins.

WARNING: MARSHMELLOWS SWELL AND CAN OCCLUDE YOUR BREATHING.
DO NOT DO THIS IF SERIOUSLY DRUNK.
SMALL CHILDREN SHOULD NOT PARTICIPATE.

You forgot to add:

HAVE A BAG READY TO SPIT THE MARSHMALLOWS OUT INTO AFTER THE GAME! lol

What a big blob of sticky goo that develops in your mouth!!

I love it when someone brings a guitar and can play songs we can all sing to.

Thanks for the explanation, JD.
Chubby Bunny sounds like fun. I'll have to try it. Maybe not while camping, though. I'm with your daughter on that one.
