My losing 25WOL for Continental $50,000

25WOL "Why family mealtimes matter to you?"

Many
don’t give
a ‘Continental.’
But FAMILY MEALTIMES
to me
are essential.
We talk and connect,
Our day we dissect.
It’s our GILLIES
bonding fundamental.

Well, no wonder I didn't get a winning phone call.
If that was a loosing entry, mine would have been pus.
Well done jed dog, I think it was great. :)

What a brilliant entry, not suprised I didnt get a call either. I think I just did a one liner which at the time I thought was okay, now I hear yours, I know it wasnt. LOL. Thanks so much for sharing your entry that suprsingly didnt win.:)

Wow!! Now I know why WOL entries intimidate me!

That is brilliant...Can't imagine what the winning one must have said when that was so good!!

Well done...you should be mighty proud of that entry anyway! :)

It's a great entry Jed Dog - as were mine!!! ;););) We just plough on now to the next one. I've taken the philisophical approach, I do my best and that's all any-one can do, I enter, I forget. If I win so be it!!!

Anyway it was a really terrific entry, I loved it. Well Done. Is that any consolation? ;););););)

Thanks Kismet.
A pat on the back from a friend is worth almost $50,000

It's really really good - don't throw away - recycle (cos Continental will be having more contests in the future!).

Once I put in an entry for a PS2 and didn't win it and was so disappointed because I thought it was a ripper - pulled the old thing out again a coupla weeks later and it won me a home entertainment system.

you just never know what the judges will like on a particular day.

all i know is that you have to keep plugging away because the next big win is always "just around the corner".

Just be careful that you check the t&cs before recycling entries. Some are asking for orignal entries that haven't been submitted previously to other comps. So, you may need to do a light rewrite before submitting :)

Ditto kismet, I'm ploughing a furrow beside you :D

Okay, I'm obtuse sometimes (well a lot of times :P) and don't all jump on me at once.... but I don't 'get' the GILLIES reference???

Be gentle peoples...... ;)

Gillies is my surname!

No relation to Max.

Here is another loser.

25WOL What is
The secret of schweppervescence…

Schweppervescence I have found
Is the tingly sound,
Conspicuously hidden in bubbles.

Life’s energy ensnared,
Bottled and prepared,
Schweppes certainly go to great troubles!

i didnt get it either RAD :D wonder what the winners wrote
posted 28-10-2008 @ 05:59 PM www

I think OUR lottos winner was going to share in the Share Your Entries section if they remembered what they wrote...probably kittykat has been too busy purrrrring to remember...I know I would be! :P

Here's one of mine, but no, it's not as good as Jed Dog's I admit!!! :P

Mealtimes strengthen family ties…
as we keep track of each other’s lives.
It’s the healthy thing to do,
creating fond memories ‘round chat & chew!

I love yours kismet.

A girlfriend entered the $50,000 with an amazing 25WOL and to top it off a hand painted plate with glued on cutlery. It was absolutely RAD.
I thought she had it for sure and yet nothing.
My most memorable big wins were throw aways ... who knows, it may have been drawn.
All the same .... you have to be in it to win it and if I were the KITTYKAT I would be Purrrrrfectly happy with my effort on the day.
Well done again KITTYKAT .... Lottos legend.
It's the big win that keeps us all hooked.

Wow Jed dog!!

Very, very clever, well done.:)

Looked like a winner to me:)

My entry was so ordinary in comparison.
posted 28-10-2008 @ 07:01 PM www

We also entered a plate on a placemat with cutlery & a handmade placecard with entry written on it and serviette etc...it was very nice and my hubby wrote his own entry for it too, which I wont put here as it was his not mine.
So that was a different entry to the one above.
Perhaps they were overwhelmed with plates & placemats!!! LOL. :P:o:) Besides, perhaps they weren't looking for extras this time either. You have to try everything though because you NEVER know.

We only did one "creative" entry & 3 online. I'm satisfied I tried my best.

Anyway, I'm happy that some-one from lottos won. There's always next time...some of the fun is living in hope. ;);)

I think this is one comp that we can be fairly satisfied wasn't drawn, after all, if it was going to be a draw they wouldn't have bothered asking for the lost 25wol entries to be resubmitted.:):):)

Post/Submit and forget I say. All judges are different in their likes and dislikes, that's why I keep plugging away...ever hopeful that a likeminded soul will come along and choose my entry over thousands of others!
