RooBoy is now fighting "The Big C"
Some of you probably remember i've been crook on & off for over a year, went to hospital 4 months ago for tests to find i have terminal bowel
cancer which had also spread to my liver.
I've been there until a few days ago having a golfball sized tumor removed from my bowel & finding a 26cm lump on my liver to big to operate
recovering & building me back up to come home & have some fun while i can cope before having to go to a total care unit.
Expected life of 3 months to 2 years, but i'm a tough little sh.it & think i might just hang around a bit longer than that 
I'm not upset/angry or cried even, just i've got it so keep active & independent for as long as i can
When Mum got cancer we promised her we'd have regular colonoscopies every 2yrs, doctors say mine was so aggressive it went from go to terminal in less
than 1yr
Doctors want me to get fit enough for chemo but not easy when i'm already wheelchair bound with rare muscle neuropathy but i'm trying
At least i'm home to fight & back here in my 2nd home, i'll try to post a few comps here & there or ad some of my 1/2 wit humor when Andrew
lends me some.....OUCH! .............so.........
Please get yourselves tested regularly, it maybe inconvenient or uncomfortable but cancer is nasty, sneaky & screws up so many people.

I am so sorry Rooboy. I'm crying as I write this as I know what your family must
be going through.
My darling sister was given the same diagnosis exactly a month ago. She has decided not to go the chemo route as she doesn't want to be tied to
hospital for the last few months of her life. She's only 61 and has 7 grandchildren under the age of 7 (her youngest child had a baby 2 months ago).
I thoroughly agree about testing. She diagnosed herself with IBS and thought she could fix it herself but now she is paying the ultimate price.
My thoughts are with you and your family. Hopefully one day the awful scourge of cancer will disappear from the face of the earth. |
