I win mostly 25wol, and all I try to do is be honest. I haven't done a single poem or rhyme yet.
Sometimes I'm very honest, such as the answer to a question about "What would you do if you met Sarah Michelle Gellar"...

Hehehehe, sometimes you never quite know what they are looking for, and usually I just go with whatever first comes into my head, rarely do I think of
something later that would have been better, so if they think my answer sucks, be it from the heart, rhyme, slogan, funny etc, then so be it. I rarely
recall what I wrote for my winning ones, I have enuff stuff on my desk without writing all those down too. |

I've yet to win a 25wol, but I've only been doing them for a few weeks.
I nearly always end up doing a rhyme or poem, but do sometimes keep it short and sweet in a short one-liner.
I will know, within the next few weeks, whether my methods are wrong or not. Seeing as I've only been doing comps a few weeks, I guess most of
the closing dates haven't expired yet.
I'll keep my fingers crossed. |

I've won only one 25wol and it was a poem. I've written lots that I thought were great but obviously not great enough to win.
However, it is fun and good for the brain matter to try and think them up.
My 14 year old son has started entering comps and has written some great rhymes. Will keep you posted if he wins anything.........

Don't be sorry, Kyrios!! It's a very good question. I recommend "How to Win any Slogan Competition" by Angelina Kaye, but I don't know where to get
it. I have a friend's copy. It is a UK book and therefore more pertinent for UK comps, but does give you lots of ideas. And try the winspiration site
for more great ideas. I personally don't like the "Winners are Grinners" book by Mach N Dinh-Vu...it falls apart and I don't think the examples of
25wol are very impressive. Just my opinion. Good luck!!! |

I have won a couple of 25wol in the last couple o' months.
For me I stick with quirky, bizare, something a little wrong maybe and it works dammit! *lol*
also depends on who's running the comp... eg Channel V I'd have something completely diff to say New Idea or something

I have won quiet a few 25 wol comps
i havent been doing rhymes or poems just 25 wol statement about the product and always try and include the name of the product and the company running
the comp but all that aside i just won a person trainer for a year by not following my normal plan , was in a silly mood and rushed for time so
quickly wrote ......My daughter says my butt looks like two british bulldogs wrestling under clothing if that was you wouldnt you be praying for a
personal trainer.....nearly died when they called me to say i had won
My advise .....do what you feel you are best at and feel confident about |

can someone help me out - I'm looking for the topic in which members listed the "real" 25wol comps i.e. those which seemed genuinely judged. Anyone
know where it is? Thanks if you can help. |

My problem is performance anxiety! I get stressed when it comes to these 25word things and I always remember something better I should have written
after the deed! |

I believe that the majority of 25wol comps are fairly judged. I definitely think that the comps that require you to purchase something before you can
enter with your 25 words are fairly judged because the number of entries are reduced. |

25 words or less
if a 25 word or less competition requires you to tick an option of whether you want the company to send you they promotional material, will they still
judge your entry if you don't tick it? |

Hehe well Im 14 too! If that counts for anything. And I think posted something else about 25 WOL in another topic... but yes, nearly anything can work
it just depends how unique, creative and suitable it is for the comp! |
