Newbie Question about "Creative Entries"
Hello all! I've been here about a fortnight now, and had a few small wins so far.
I want to pick the brain and experience of some of the regular compers who have been here for a while...
I see a lot of 25WOL Comps that say "Be Creative" in the T&C.
I just saw a comp go off on FB who had a winner and 2 runners up that had gone to amazing effort.
One had uploaded a YouTube clip, and two others created funky internet meme's. Whilst I was very entertained by the entries and give them merit for
Creativity, effort and being totally unique - many of their entries contained a lot of text still. Far far exceeding the 25WOL limit...
So I just wanted to know whether this particular comp (Can supply links if you want, but I don't want to risk offending anyone lest the winners be
Lottos compers) - the winners entries ARE AMAZING - I'm not doubting that, I'm just curious as to whether it's a bend or stretch (or outright breach)
of the Terms of Entry/Eligibility ?!
Or would that depend on the comp and Promoters themselves?
Please be aware that I'm not bagging the method, I'm just curious and wanting to learn because clearly, if I want to win big, I'm gonna have to up my
game! 
Any feedback would be awesome!
Also - Wasn't 100% sure which Forum would be the best for this post. |

If it stated 25WOL that thats all should have been used in my opinion creatively done or not 25WOL is 25WOL |

Yes, many creative entries do break the rules and still seem to win. I believe many are actually cheating.
It is up to the promoters..but sometimes they can be swayed if people complain that the winning entries flout the terms and conditions.
The ones that annoy me the most are those where the terms say the entry must be on the given web form and yet people still manage to post in or hand
deliver creative entries. That is a flagrant breach of the terms and really is cheating to give yourself an unfair advantage.
By all means try creative entries but stick to the terms and conditions, otherwise you may put in an enormous amount of effort only to be
disqualified! |

Yeah that was my way of thinking too... Evidently this promoter decided to reward the effort that went into their Comp over greatly adhering to their
T&C.
I considered "Complaining" to them but figured I'd just comp off as a Sore Loser.
But it's a good lesson in my short comping life...
I think I would rather stick to the guidelines stipulated in the T&C even if I were to get creative. |

I always stick to the t&c's - imo any that don't should be instantly disqualified.
I would point out if a winner was not complying with t&c's - doesn't bother me if strangers on the internet think I'm a sore loser! |

People have complained on Facebook of winners who breached the T&C's - exceeding the 25WOL. They have bent to pressure and redrawn the winners.
Stick within the rules - it pays off. |

Game of Skill vs. Game of Chance
As a rule of thumb, Games of Skill – competitions that require a user to answer a question or submit something (Showing ‘Skill’ in order to win) –
don’t require Trade Permits within Australia. These competitions are selected by a judge through a selection process where the best or most skillful
entry decides the winner.
Therefore many comps are WOL just to avoid having a permit. Just because they say they will be judged does not mean they will be.
My opinion is that if the winner is 'over the stated WOL requirement' then it was most likely drawn!
..but what can we do.... WHINGE of course and best done as a group so as to make a point!
