Timing an instant win. Who's got a theory?

Timing an instant win. Who's got a theory?

I am really curious as to if you lovely lottoers have any theory as to the best time to enter an instant win. Of course I know this is pretty much a moot point as across Australia there are different time zones so a Queensland 10am is quite different in WA. I have been pondering this today because I have allowed myself 3 cans of mother to enter in the present comp. Two entries down and one left. I truly suck at instant win so I thought I would theorise my last entry. I was thinking I would enter straight up on opening time but then thinking that being Saturday Morning all the Mother drinkers would be getting their hit of caffine before they go to work after a Friday night out. Thinking while they were sitting bleary eyed they would sms enter. My second thought would be mid afternoon but then my thought would be conquering the 3p.m. slump would also result in a lot of entries. Same for the later afternoon like around 7pm with all the party people getting a boost before hitting the town. Now with this theory and if you stretch it out the four hours of the time zone it seems that there is never a right time LOL. Normally I just race home with my purchase required entry and enter it straight away possibly because I do very few purchase required but as this is a one a day only entry I have had time to ponder a theory.

I only bought 2 cans, entered one straight away - nothing. The other one, I meant to do in the last session of the day and kept forgetting, and was sick of it sitting by my chair for days. So yesterday morning I lost my temper and entered around 9.30 am just to get rid of it and I won:D I think it is just dumb luck, like those beastly Better Homes and Gardens ring and wins!

my luck at instant wins is somewhere between 0.001 and 0.0001% , seriously:lol: if I theorise and try to enter at a time that Im sure will be a winner it only adds to the pain

Just entered and no win. AAhh well. Easy come, easy go.

I hear you Dabsey, we don't drink Mother either, so my purchases will be when they are on sale and probably only three entries too. So our entries are precious, knowing that is all we will do. Sometimes I have success around 10pm, but when I read comments on instant win comps, the time really does vary all throughout the day/night. I wonder whether they have pre-determined win times, or pre-determined entries eg: entry 946 wins, then entry 1005 wins etc.... It really probably just comes down to "cross your fingers" and hit enter! lol Good luck all.

Like to contribute but smiths chips, greenseas have use up all my strategy thinking, can't crack them so just go for it.....but wait what if mums are at Saturday morning footy...no wait maybe enter noon when everyone's at lunch.....no wait do it at tea time...........who knows good luck

Speaking in regard to instant wins in general not the hourly ones, I definitely think some are timed at one every so many minutes and I think it also depends on how high the entry traffic is. I recall being in a grog shop and entering a comp and getting an instant win and because I'm one of those compers who has been known to sit in my car to enter, I decided to go back in and buy more. I came up with two more winners.
Later when I got home, I realised it hadn't yet been posted and the comp had been running for 4 days. So I figure those wins were catch ups because then people were winning for the next day and they then dried up. The problem is you can't know which comps are scheduled that way unless like me you get lucky enough to stumble across it or there's a group of you, like lottos, sharing information about things "going off" or timing of wins.

The secret to winning instant wins is to 1. enter 2. hold your mouth the right way!

Prize wins 2014: $37680
Prize wins 2011: $13000
previous years about $25000

The harder you work the luckier you get

Aah, instant wins! I remember them from way back!
I do know that if I think it too much I don't win. Or if I don't think it, I don't win. But I do get more disappointed if I think it.

I haven't found any theories ou either. I rarely win them, ie none for Mentos, 2 for chupa chups, and had about 20 entries in each.
I won on my first entry for Heinz, entered late at night, thinking I shouldn't be doing this as it probably went off earlier in the day- and I won! 2nd entry a week later didn't win, 3rd entry days later did!

Just luck I think! And screaming 'please, please, please' at the screen as you hit enter!

My second (winning) entry into Mother was a bit strategic. Well the first (non-winning) was too but it didn't work, haha - that was in the very first hour of the comp.

My winning one I had logged in and was watching the number. Every so often I'd refresh, and when it hadn't dropped by 5.47pm, plus knowing it was only one entry per day so very limiting - ie anyone who had entered that day couldn't enter again, I thought it was a good shot to go for it!!

Smiths Chips though - nothing!! I'm so frustrated by that one!

When I over think I don't win , just enter and hope :-)

I just enter and forget about theory. I won $10,000 once with no thought. Ive also won straight after another Lotto person has won with $500 IGA cards. Tried entering at quiet times between 2am -3am when my cat wanted out thinking that would be a great time but actually ended being the worst.
I do like Tuesdays for some reason but no actual evidence for it accept it was a Tuesday when I won $10,000.

With the KitKat/Android Tablet promotion last year. I bought DOZENS of Kitkats when they were on sale for $1 in Woolies. I'd try entering bunches at a time or one every hour. Once, I held onto a bunch and tried entering them all when I got up at 3.00am for shift work, thinking NOBODY else is up at that time, so I must have a good chance. NO LUCK!

THEN, one night at 10.38pm, when I'd just put a delicious pineapple upside-down cake in the oven to bake, I decided to try one entry. And I won.

Maybe you need to bake a cake? :D :D :D

Good luck - wherever your thinking may take you! :)

Most my Chupa Chups wins were around 11.00 pm, mainly because my husband ate one each night and I'd forget about it until just before I went to bed, great fun trying to read those horrible little codes with very tired eyes !!!
I thought just maybe the last time-slot would work with Smith's...so no :(

Most instant wins actually tell you that it is based on a pre-programmed time. So they take the number of prizes and programme them each to a time slot in the entry period. The first person to enter at that time wins....so it's all a matter of luck!

This is from Heinz/Greeseas:
14. Each Instant Win Prize will be randomly allocated at a pre-determined day and time slot during the Promotion Period, by an electronic drawing system. Entrants who submit a valid entry on a predetermined day and time slot, or submit a valid entry closest to the pre-determined day and time slot once it has passed, will be notified by reply SMS or email advising that they are a provisional instant winner

LOL mska, I'm with you! :D

I never give any thought to the time, maybe I should, because my luck with instant wins is generally abysmal! Especially this year.

Completely random. Computer generated. There is NO rhyme or reason at all.

I'm with mska also. my timing is truly off. Enter when I do and you're sure to lose.

If any one would like advice on how to "Instantly Lose" I've done an enormous amount of research into that subject, I'm beginning to consider myself an expert in the subject ...LOL

I'm not really an instant winner, in fact, I am an exceptional instant loser!

I used to be a firm believer in the early morning 2am to 6am time slots but too many people go for that now and I find you are less likely to win then!

I have the best luck when I hit the enter button and walk away from the computer before the win/lose screen comes up! Its a bit like holding your mouth the right way:lol::lol::lol:

Ha ha ha, I've done the same. Or just sat there with my eyes shut, hoping for a big surprise when I open them. Lol:P
