Thanks Babbs - I ask because every now and then someone writes that they're going to use up all their credit this month on such-and-such instant win comp and I always wonder who lets you use credit for the 19 mobile comps! I want to too!!!

With any prepaid you can only use the recharge amount on the 19 sms texts as no prepaid will let you phone 1900. Well none that I know of anyway

I'm using the Telstra Freedom Cap. You get $250 total credit of which you can use $30 for premium SMS. The cap costs $30 and is valid 28 days.

I was with Vodafone before, but besides bad reception I had to purchase extra credit for premium sms, which really added up over the month. The Telstra Freedom Cap turned out to be a much better choice.

I wish that was the case! But no. I'm with Aldi Telstra prepaid and it cannot be used for 19 texts :sniffle:

I have three prepaid optus and one telstra I can SMS to comps on all of them, just like above though they only credit you can use for these premium SMS is the amount you purchase all the bonus credit cannot be used, neither can pre paid messaging money which is a bonus optus give, but that covers all your normal stuff ringing people normal SMS, so technically you might as well use the whole value you can on comp numbers.

When the world says give up

HOPE WHISPERS

try it one more time.......

I am with vodafone prepaid $30 text and talk! I use this for entering comps as it allows premium texts and also I don't pay for my phone calls and normal texts. :)

My last notification from them when I updated my prepaid was the following :)

"$30.00 TXT and TALK recharge is now completed. :)

Your updated balance is : $37.79 Flexi Credit Expiring on 08/09/2015.

You have 14,270 V2V Talk minutes ( which is handy as both my adult daughter's are on vodafone) ;)

6616 free TXT

1075 Free talk minutes

Flexi credit expires 08/09/2015

Account expires 07/08/2016

As long as I top up prior to the expiry date for flexi cedit I am happy and my vodafone credit is used for comps :)

I am not sure if this is still available but it works for me :)

I have always found virgin to be the best. I have been with them for about 7 years.

Pre paid $29 p/m gives you $450 worth of calls and 1gb. Then each month you recharge you get an extra $50 worth of bonus credit

Or there is the $19 p/m give you $100 bonus credit and 250gb and then each month you recharge you get an extra $50 bonus credit

So is the $29/$19 credit what you use for premium SMS's, or are you also able to use the $50 bonus credit towards premium SMS's as well?

Bonus credit is basically never able to be used on premium sms.

They wouldn't get any money from your sms.

You recharge $30. You can spend the entire of that $30 on premium SMS (if you want) and then you can use the bonus call and text etc for normal calls and texts.

This is what I have too.

The bonus stuff covers all my other calls etc. (not 19 calls) but I use the $29 proper credit on premium sms's before I have to recharge. Virgin sends me a reminder text 4 days before my credit expires :)

I did a lot of shopping around about 12 months ago and all companies were the same... no bonus credit will cover premium sms on prepaid.
