Please review my 25wol submissions
Hi,
I'm new to all of this and was hoping for an idea of how my 25wol submissions are, if they are up to par:
1. To win a K700I sony Ericsson Phone:
A: “My current phone sucks majorly, and I love gadgets. The Sony Ericsson has tons of gadgets that I would love to get my hands on”
2. Win a trip in the snow:
A: I deserve to win this trip because I have never seen snow in my life, and this would be a fantastic experience for me.
3. Win a NZ bus pass
A: New Zealand has some of the most incredible scenery, and I would cherish the opportunity to visit this beautiful place.
4. To win a HP Photosmart 935
A: I love gadgets, can't do without them,
Photos and technology are my passion,
Anthing new must be obtained,
For I love to be entertained.
I feel that number four is my best. Any advice/comments are greatly appreciated.

We can't really tell you what will work and what won't work - as sometimes it is the simple ones that stand out to the promoters - and
sometimes it is the clever ones.
I always try to have a bit of word play in mine.
I also like to rhyme sometimes as well.
Often though it is a snappy one liner (with a bit of humour) that has pulled off some of my bigger wins.
I would try and be a little more creative if you could... but in saying that - the promoters could very easily go for what you have written... just
depends who is judging it.

Hi Magnatolia, Good Luck & good on you for trying 25wol. I HATE,HATE, HATE them!!
Sometimes something just pops instantly into my mind that is witty or seems good,but generally I sit for AGES trying to write something,especially
hard to get under 25words.
As Tyecart said,we can't tell you what the promoters will chose but i think your 4th was your best... The snow one (while good,saying what you
feel) may not stand out enough as Probably many others could enter something similar...But who knows it could be the one they pick!
I think it helps to put something that makes your entry stand out from the rest.
Having said that I am no expert & have only one a couple of 25wol comps.

Different promoters seem to like different types of entries - so it really is hit and miss.

G'day! I LOVE 25 worders!!!
My advice?
Write what works for you as everyone has their own unique writing and creative style
Just be true to yourself

What works for one comp is not necessarily what another judge is looking for. It is very subjective - still a numebrs agame I think. The more you
enter, the more cahnce of winning. somewhere, someone will like your style |

Make every word count.
See who's judging it. If it's for eg a sony comp and being judged by sony people mention sony through the entry and watch all the words are
positive in nature.
Think outside the square. It's more likely to catch the judges eye.
And read what the question is they're asking. It's easy to get off track.
I won a 25wol with one word. I guess it caught their eye. - it was only a small prize but I really wanted to win it.
Sometimes you fluke a win. A Jeanswest comp I answered in a certain way and when I went to spend the $500 voucher instore the sales girl and I got
chatting and I told her my 25wol and she said that's the style they use in their training seminars so that's why it probably got the nod for
winning. My guess anyway.

I hate 25wol comps, they suck!!!!
I haven't done any for ages, as I used to think I had come up with the most creative, fantastic, wow-factor answers & obviously they all
sucked as never win on them!!
So yours sound great to me, send them in cos you never know what they are looking for. |
