CinemasWin one of ten double passes to the British Film Festival at Palace Cinemas. The British Film Festival will take over the Palace Barracks and
Palace James Street from November 6 to December 8. This year’s stellar program will deliver an array of dramas, comedies, true stories and
documentaries featuring several of Britain’s finest acting and filmmaking talents including Saoirse Ronan, Andrew Garfield, Florence Pugh, Ralph
Fiennes, Jude Law and Tim Roth. Trust us when we say you won’t want to miss out on this year’s exceptional movie line-up. You can check out the month
of stellar programming here.
Opening this year’s festival is Blitz, Steve McQueen’s visually stunning period drama depicting pivotal moments of World War II in London, direct from
its London Film Festival premiere. The film features stellar central performances from Saoirse Ronan, Paul Weller and newcomer Elliot Heffernen who
plays nine-year-old George. Closing the festival is the exclusive Australian premiere of the highly anticipated We Live In Time, starring Oscar
nominees Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.
The 2024 festival centrepiece is Mike Leigh’s Hard Truths, which reunites him with the brilliant Marianne Jean-Baptiste in a darkly humorous and
insightful exploration of family dynamics. Other standouts include British/French co-production Widow Clicquot and time-bending dark comedy
Timestalker. In tribute to the late Dame Maggie Smith, James Ivory’s classic melodrama A Room With A View will be screened, as well as the newly
released documentary Merchant Ivory, which focuses on the 44-film collaboration of Ismail Merchant and James Ivory who delivered decades of acclaimed
dramas to audiences.
The Weekend Edition is giving away ten double passes to the British Film Festival – to be used on a movie of your choosing.
Competition closes Sunday 3 November, 2024 at 11:59 pm. |
